Is Your Profile Picture an Eggplant, a Gun, or Jesus?

Why First Impressions Matter

You only have one chance to make a good first impression! This is especially true on social media. A profile pops up and you have to make a quick decision to follow or pass.

Keep in mind that we are always transmitting information about ourselves.

It helps us find people who are similar to us and skip by the ones who are right for someone else.

There’s no right or wrong here as long as you are aware of what signals you are sending out.

Here are some reasons that your profile picture and description are telling me that I’m not the one you are looking for. In no particular order.

These would be a “no for me, dawg.”

  1. No picture at all and your intro blur says, “blah, blah, blah”
  2. Your profile picture is an eggplant, a gun, or Jesus
  3. You say you’re a psychiatrist but you spell it wrong
  4. You say you’re making 500K a month and want to teach me
  5. You describe yourself as a grouch
  6. Fueled by rage
  7. A pastor getting into drones
  8. Parent of 8 kids and into sex. (No kidding…
